Dovedale tops UK beauty ranking as three walks near Sheffield make list
Dovedale, the Monsal Trail and Wentworth Woodhouse feature in a UK country walks ranking based on how visitors described their scenery.
Three walking destinations in Derbyshire and South Yorkshire have featured in a new ranking of the UK’s most beautiful country walks, according to Sheffield Star.
Dovedale in Derbyshire took first place, with 65.93% of its 1,890 reviews describing the walk as beautiful. It finished ahead of Stourhead in Wiltshire, which recorded 56.98%.
The Monsal Trail, also in Derbyshire, ranked 10th nationally. Of its 1,883 reviews, 34.84% praised its beauty.
Wentworth Woodhouse in South Yorkshire placed 16th, with 29.89% of its 1,800 reviews describing the destination as beautiful.
The analysis covered 25 popular destinations. Its measure was how often visitors used the word beautiful to describe the scenery, rather than the total number of reviews each destination received.
