Most hotels in Sheffield cluster around the middle of the city. The directory lists 40 in total. The City Centre has 12, far more than any other area. The remaining 28 are scattered over 16 other districts, often one or two to a neighbourhood.

Hotels in Sheffield city centre

Staying in the City Centre puts you near the station, the shops and the evening venues. Ibis, Leopold Hotel and Radisson Blu Sheffield are all listed there, and all three are names visitors look up directly. If you only need a bed for a night before an early train, this is the simplest place to start.

Cheaper chains and out-of-town stays

Budget travellers often head out of the middle. Ibis Budget and Premier Inn are both listed in Carbrook, and Travelodge appears in Brightside. These areas sit away from the main shopping streets, so check how you will get in and out before you book.

Some country-house style hotels are listed well outside the centre. Whitley Hall Hotel is in Burncross, and Mosborough Hall Hotel is in Halfway. Both suit a quieter weekend or a wedding trip better than a shopping break.

Quieter districts near the university
