Femi Seriki available for Sheffield United against Derby County

Femi Seriki is in contention for Sheffield United’s match against Derby County on Saturday 24 October, having been out since late August.

Chris Wilder confirmed the 24-year-old’s availability, Yahoo Sports reports. His comments concerned Seriki’s return to contention.

Wilder said: “Femi is available.” He said United had missed Seriki alongside Harrison, Ryan and Chongy, whose recent contributions from the bench had helped improve performances.

Wilder also highlighted the difficulty of bringing injured players straight back into the team without the reserve fixtures previously used to rebuild match sharpness. He said players would once have been given two or three such games before returning.

With those players now integrated, Wilder said having Seriki available provided another option in his position.
