Chris Wilder updates on Bamford and One after Derby County match
Patrick Bamford faces an assessment after scoring against Derby County, while Ryan One has had a scan following a hamstring setback.
Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder said Patrick Bamford would be assessed after being forced off against Derby County, while Ryan One has undergone a scan following a hamstring setback.
Speaking to The Star after the match, Wilder said One had felt something in training. The forward was left out of the squad, with Wilder expressing disappointment because he believed One’s pace could have influenced the game.
Bamford was replaced by Tyrese Campbell immediately after scoring United’s equaliser against a Derby side reduced to ten men.
He had met Romelle Donovan’s cross to score from close range but was caught by goalkeeper Jacob Zetterstrom in the process. He stayed down as teammates gathered around him, then walked off.
Earlier, Bamford had needed treatment following a challenge from Derby defender Dion Sanderson, landing awkwardly on his shoulder. He briefly left the pitch before returning, with Bobby Clark subsequently putting Derby ahead.
Wilder said the club would assess Bamford the day after the match and expressed hope that the injury would not be serious.
